Building the New Vaastu House and Studio

A few years ago, I began studying Vaastu Science, a spiritual science from Southern India that is at least 10,000 years old. 
It was developed by Mumuni Mayan, the Indian rishi who was called “Vishwakarna” or “Creator of the Universe”.   In order to maximize the positive effects of Space in a house, mathematical formulas and specific design principles are used.  Before building my house
and studio, I went to India to study with Dr. Ganapati Sthapati, the most knowledgeable proponent of this science. 

Vaastu Science and my Quilt making have several things in common:  Creation begins with a central square and
moves in a clockwise direction. A grid is used to define the space.  Measurements are precise.

The house, studio, and garage that I started in July are now nearing completion.  All three buildings have been placed in
a precise relationship to each other and to the land in the same way as the Temples Complexes in Southern India.
I look forward to living and working in this new space.
